Disadvantages of glass blocks

Cost of glass as a building material is a little bit high compared to others. It is brittle so chances are there to break on high pressure so it is less impact resistant.  Etching occurs occasionally on gjass surface.  Glass is effected by corrosion due to alkali solution.  It is unsafe for earthquake-prone area.  Since glass is heat absorbalnt there is chance for intrerior air heating.  It is also heat transparent.
